About Me
I’m Hélène — someone who enjoys the simple, warm moments in life just as much as the busy and exciting ones. In my free time, you’ll often find me spending time with family, going into the city for something fun, or cooking a long, cosy meal. I love bringing people together, creating a relaxed atmosphere and enjoying good conversations. I’m also someone who gets energy from being active; whether I’m working, studying or exercising, I like to keep moving and make the most out of my day.
Who I Am as a Person
Friends describe me as hardworking, enthusiastic and naturally organised. I’m the person who sees what needs to be done, enjoys making a plan, and feels at my best when I can help things run smoothly. I’m friendly, social and love being around people — hospitality fits me for exactly that reason. I bring positivity, structure and a genuine love for connecting with others into everything I do, both in my personal life and in my future career.
My Educational Milestones
I proudly obtained both my secondary school diploma and my Secondary Vocational Education in Hospitality at Leerhotel Het Klooster (MBO Amersfoort). These achievements represent important steps in my personal and professional development. During my time in vocational hospitality training, I gained valuable hands-on experience, learned to work in a professional hotel environment and discovered my passion for organisation, service and teamwork.
These milestones have shaped the foundation for who I am today and continue to guide me as I grow within the hospitality industry and pursue new opportunities in my Hotel Management studies.
Charity Dinner – My Role and Experience
As part of our final project at Leerhotel Het Klooster, we organized a charity dinner to support Stichting Gaandeweg. Besides contributing to the event itself, I took on the responsibility for marketing and ticket sales. This meant promoting the event, reaching the right audience and communicating clearly and effectively to create enthusiasm and trust.
During this process, I learned how to approach marketing from a practical, hospitality-focused perspective: understanding what motivates people to attend, how to present an event attractively and how to build momentum. It was incredibly rewarding to see that our efforts worked, the entire event sold out, and together we raised €12,950 for the foundation.
This experience taught me not only how powerful teamwork can be, but also that I enjoy taking on responsibilities that involve planning, communication and bringing people together for a meaningful purpose.
Meetings & Events Internship – Landgoed de Horst
In the final year of my Secondary Vocational Education in Hospitality, I completed a five-month internship in the Meetings & Events department at De Baak Landgoed de Horst. There, I supported the organisation of trainings and business events, helped with planning and room set-ups, and learned how to stay structured and solution-focused during busy days.
Entrepreneurship Project
During my Secondary Vocational Education, I developed a full business plan and presented it to a professional jury. This project taught me how to think creatively, work structurally and pitch ideas with confidence.
Exploring and Enjoying New Places
I love discovering new cities, exploring different places and trying out restaurants wherever I go. Experiencing new surroundings gives me energy and inspires me. Whether it’s a day out with friends, a nice dinner in a new spot or spending time with my family, I really enjoy creating moments together and making memories in different places.
My Love for Sports
Sports have always been an important part of my life, both in doing them and enjoying them as a fun activity to watch. For four years, I practised kickboxing, which taught me discipline, strength and self-defence — skills that have stayed with me ever since. Before that, I spent ten years playing hockey, a sport I truly loved and would happily pick up again. Being part of a team, working together on the field and celebrating small wins made it a really special experience.
Today, sport is still very much part of my routine. I enjoy running and going to the gym, which helps me stay active, focused and balanced in my daily life. It’s something that gives me energy and keeps me motivated, and I know that sport will never fully disappear from my lifestyle.
I also like sports as a social experience. From time to time, I visit the Feyenoord stadium to watch a match (not necessarily as a die-hard fan) but because I love the atmosphere, the excitement and the feeling of doing something fun together. For me, sport is a blend of movement, connection and enjoyment, whether I’m training, exploring a new challenge or simply cheering from the stands.
